The effect of high-fructose feeding on hemodynamic behavior and infarct size of isolated rat hearts subjected to low-flow ischemia.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the potentially deleterious effect in vivo high-fructose feeding rats on ex hemodynamic recovery and infarct size isolated rat hearts subjected low-flow ischemia reperfusion.
 Methods: After Sprague-Dawley male with a (n=9), high-glucose (n=9) or standard diet for four weeks, were extirpated perfused Krebs-Henseleit solution 15 min; thereafter low flow (0.3 ml/min) during 30 min followed by 60 reperfusion. Left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP), first derivative development contraction relaxation phase heart rate recorded prior after Infarct area measured at end reperfusion period. 
 Results: In hearts, reperfusion, relative myocardial did not differ between three groups. Post-ischemic cardiac contractile appeared be complete both group contrast, control LVDP left still depressed minutes Conclusion: Feeding appears have positive function ischemia, comparison diet, without difference size. Similar results obtained fed rats.
